A legacy of excellence since 1942 — Lagos Airport Hotel has evolved from a modest inn into one of Nigeria’s most iconic hospitality landmarks, blending timeless heritage with modern comfort.
Founded in 1942 as Grand Hotel Lagos, the establishment started with just five rooms, catering to early travelers and colonial administrators. It quickly became known for its warmth, comfort, and personalized service.
In 1956, the hotel was acquired and managed by Mr. Joseph Harold, a British entrepreneur, and rebranded as Ikeja Arms Inn. Its reputation grew as Lagos became a major hub for business and travel.
Following Nigeria’s Indigenisation Decree, ownership transferred to Odu’a Investment Company Limited — representing the South-West states. It was then renamed Lagos Airport Hotel, reflecting its new identity and strategic location in Ikeja.
Through the early 2000s, Lagos Airport Hotel underwent significant renovations and expansion, increasing capacity to over 270 rooms and upgrading its conference facilities to host up to 1,500 guests.
In 2022, the hotel marked its 80th anniversary, a milestone celebrating eight decades of service excellence, community, and heritage. It reaffirmed its place as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s hospitality industry.
Continuing its legacy, the hotel renovated the Harold Block in 2025 — modernizing over 51 rooms and facilities while preserving its timeless charm. This symbolizes a renewed commitment to excellence and guest comfort.
